The second mock trial at the Faculty of Law at Sohag University discusses cases of emotional murder

Dr. Mostafa Abdel Khalek, President of Sohag University, witnessed the activities of the second mock trial, which was embodied by students of the Faculty of Law, and dealt with the events of emotional killing cases, which have recently spread within Egyptian society, in the presence of Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Rabeh Ratib, Dean of the College, Major General Alaa Abdel Jaber, Assistant General Secretary on behalf of the Governor of the Region, Brigadier General Ahmed Fathi, Military Adviser to the Governorate, Dr. Ahmed Aziz, the former President of the University, Counselor Jamal Abu Kreisha, President of the Judges Club in Sohag, Counselor Mohamed Fawzi, Legal Adviser to the University, Dr. Ahmed Suleiman, Vice President for Studies Senior and former research, Counselor Mahmoud Abdel Jaber, Head of the State Cases Branch in Sohag, and a group of judicial and political leaders, deans of faculties, faculty members, employees and students, in the Great Conference Hall at the old university headquarters.

University President’s Speech:
In his speech, Dr. Mustafa Abdel-Khalek welcomed the university’s guests for attending one of the powerful events organized by the Faculty of Law for the second year in a row, explaining that the event aims to provide an applied model for real courts, which proves the strength of the faculty, which has faced many obstacles since its inception, beginning with the regulation Passing through the headquarters and faculty members, but it was able to overcome everything it faced under its leadership, and obtained the approval of the Legal Studies Sector of the Supreme Council of Universities to continue studying there, unlike a number of its counterparts in other universities, praising what the students embodied during the events of the trial, which is a practical training To enable them to practice the various functional legal roles professionally.

Speech of the Vice President for Education and Student Affairs:
In the same context, Dr. Abdel Nasser Yassin explained that this event comes in light of the university administration’s endeavor to develop the skills of law students and refine them to build their personality and legal expertise, and help remove their fear of courtrooms after their graduation and their integration into practical life, as well as raising awareness of the motives and consequences of emotional murder. He expressed his happiness for attending such an event for this fledgling college, which excelled this year in its attendance and active participation in many student activities in various fields and in obtaining advanced positions at the college level.

For his part, Dr. Rabih Ratib confirmed that the event is organized for the second time, as part of its keenness to shed light on some problems and issues, out of its belief in the college’s role in spreading community awareness, explaining that the students, during the trial, experienced the event and impersonated the various judicial figures (judges and members Public Prosecution and Defense, ..) The roles are gradual, according to what is in effect in ordinary courts, which perpetuates the concept of public trial, which contributes to refining their scientific and practical skills, and trying to link academic studies with applied reality and practical life.

It is worth noting that the celebration began with the Republican anthem, then verses from the wise remembrance of the reciter Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Suhaji, then a number of patriotic lyric paragraphs, followed by the events of the trial.
