Sohag University President announces the Preparation of a large Operating Room to Perform Complex Microscopic Surgeries

Dr. Hassan Al-Noamani, President of Sohag University, announced the start of preparing and finishing a large operating room to perform complex microscopic surgeries, at the headquarters of the Hand Surgery and Microscopic Surgery Unit at the Old University Hospital, with the aim of improving the medical service provided to accident and injury patients in Sohag Governorate and the neighboring governorates of Upper Egypt.

This came during a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Hand and Microscopic Surgery Unit headed by Dr. Hassan Al-Nomani, President of the University, and in the presence of Dr. Magdy Al-Qadi, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sheikh, Head of the Orthopedic Department, Dr. Yasser Othman, Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Director of the Unit, and Dr. Fawzi Abbas, Head of the Anesthesia Department and Amr Hashem, Director of the Budget Department, in the University Council Hall in the old campus.

Al-Numani explained that the unit specializes in microsurgery related to re-implantation and restoration of limbs after the removal of bone and soft tissue tumors, repair of peripheral nerves and treatment of brachial plexus injuries, adding that this unit relies on micro-surgery related to bones, such as transferring live tissue and plastic surgery using the latest technologies, and re-implantation the amputated organs and tumor removal, adding that the unit is one of the distinguished units that deals with patients with injuries that result in cutting of veins, arteries, nerves, or tendons
