Admission and Study systems
Admission system
- The faculty accepts the secondary schools student according to the rules of the laws and Tanseek office acceptance.
- the faculty council determines the accepted numbers of students according to the suggestion of students affairs committee and the university council acceptance.
- The coming secondary school student may be accepted according to the rules which the supreme council of universities determines.
Study systems
1- Studying at the faculty based on credit hours, this system is a measurement unit to determine the weight of the following things:
- Curriculum at only one semester which equals
- one academic theoretical hour weekly
- Two hours of practical training weekly.
2- The faculty’s council may decide studying some curricula using the system of electronic learning , the council also has the right to accredit any academic curricula by the system of the e-learning and considers these curricula part of the required credit hours to get the bachelor, after asking for the student affairs committee ‘s decision.

Courses
The courses required to obtain a Bachelor of Laws degree are the following compulsory and elective courses, distributed over two semesters during the academic year. Each course is indicated by its number and the number of credit hours according to the tables.

Second: Optional Courses
The student shall choose one course from the following to study in the second semester of each year, based on the guidance of the academic advisor. The faculty Council may, based on the proposal of the Student Affairs Committee, regulate the selection of courses according to the academic level of each course.

Studying duration, academic semesters and the academic burden
- The studying duration of getting the bachelor is four academic years divided into two semesters a year , the curricula and their hours are distributed according to the determined credit hours for every subject.
- The academic year- is divided into two semesters every semester is 16 weeks and exams included, but registration period is not part of this duration, the faculty may also organize a summer course according to available materialistic and human capabilities and must not be less than 8 weeks.
- Academic burden: every semester includes 16 credit hours to credit 22hours.
- The minimum registered credit hours is 12 hours.
- The maximum registered credit hours is 22 credit hours.
Teaching language
- The used language in teaching is Arabic language and the faculty council may, after the university approval, decide teaching some curricula in English orin French.
- Regarding the post graduate studies at least a part of curriculum should be taught in English or French.
Academic Guidance
- The vice dean of post graduate studies appoints an academic guide from the staff members.
- The academic guide prepares with the students a special includes the optional and the obligatory courses according to the academic plan and the admission rules of the students.
Graduation Requirements
- To graduate and get bachelor the student must pass 135 credit hours,123 hours of these hours are obligatory and 12 is not.
- The GPA( grade point average) must not be less than 1.5.of 4 to get the law bachelor.
Students Rules
Add or Remove subjects
The student can add or remove any subject at the end of the second week of the beginning of the first semester, then the subject is added or removed.
Register
The student who spent at least one semester can ask for deferring but not to exceed two successive semesters
The student is considered suspended if he withdraws from all the subjects due to exceeding the albescence duration.
Withdrawal
- Within the first weak, the student can cancel the registration of a subject or more without registering the subject at the student register.
- The student also can, if he fulfilled the attendance conditions, leave the faculty after the approval of student and education affairs committee, but the student who’s GPA is less than 1.5 out of 4 cant register again.
- If the student failed for two successive semesters he can only return back to study at the faculty after getting the approval of the faculty council.
Warning
Student affairs office warns the student if he didn’t get 1.5 out of 5 at the end of any semester except the first semester of the first year he will be warned for the second time then after the third warning ,he may be dismissed.
Dismiss from the faculty
The student is dismissed from the faculty according to the following conditions:
- If he withdraw from all the subjects at the first semester of the first year.
- If he failed in any subject for two times successively.
- If he failed in three subjects.
- If he didn’t get the minimum range of 1.5.out of 5.
- If he exceeded the maximum academic semesters or exceed the allowed deferring period.
- If he break the laws or commit any law breaking according to the used regulations and laws.
- The student who is dismissed can’t be registered unless the dismiss reason due to his very low GPA, in this case The faculty.
- allows him to study not more than 9 credit hours to raise his grade.
Readmission
The student who dropped out or withdraw can ask for a reacceptance and if he fulfilled the requirements or the conditions, he will be reaccepted and will keep his academic register and completes his study according to the accredited plan, on a condition that his dropout doesn’t exceed at most four years and his grade not less than 1.5 out of 4.
Attendance
- If the student absence reached 25% without acceptable justification, the student can’t be allowed to attend exams and marked as prohibited and he can withdraw from the subject if the withdrawal period still available.
- If the student absence reached 25% and he has an acceptable justification, he is considered withdrawn.
Rewards and prizes for the brilliant students
- The new students of secondary schools of the top 30 in science section, and top ten in literary sections and top five in the technical secondary schools, are granted 120 pounds annually.
- the new students of secondary and technical schools who got 80% at least in the exams of the secondary.
- Schools are granted 84 pounds.
- if the previously mentioned students got very good grade every year they got the same rewards annually, but if they got excellent grade they get 120 pounds and 60 pounds if good grade.
- The student got the previously mentioned rewards in the next year of getting the previously mentioned grades and the rewards is repeated annually if the students meet the conditions.
